About our membership scout.... |
The Membership Scout recognition is awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond in drawing new membership into our organization. This quarter, David LaCob has earned this honor by being instrumental in recruiting over 30 new members since September 2025—a remarkable contribution to the growth and strength of FCCD.
Let’s learn more about the outstanding leader selected as our 1st Quarter Membership Scout. David LaCob began his career with the Florida Department of Corrections in 1994. Prior to joining the department, he proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. He later attended Broward College, majoring in Criminal Justice, further laying the foundation for an exemplary career in corrections and public service. Throughout his career, David has relocated and promoted through the ranks, consistently demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and leadership. He currently serves as the Major at Lowell Correctional Institution, where his calm presence and natural leadership style have earned him the reputation of a gentle giant—firm, fair, and deeply respected by staff and peers alike. Beyond his professional achievements, David is a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and remains actively involved in his community. David also serves as President of FCCD Chapter 18, a role in which he continues to shine. He is known for generating creative ideas, motivating those around him, and inspiring involvement at every level. His influence has contributed significantly to the chapter’s growth, visibility, and success—helping place Chapter 18 back on the map. David LaCob is truly an asset to the Florida Department of Corrections, to FCCD, and to the members he leads with passion, dedication, and heart. |
