About our Spotlight Member.... |
The Spotlight Member is selected as one who goes above and beyond to represent and promote the mission of the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency.
Let's learn more about Robert and Tammy Swengel who was selected as our 1st quarter Spotlight member. FCCD’s Spotlight Members for the 1st Quarter are the remarkable husband-and-wife duo, Retired Sgt. Tammy Swengel and Sgt. Robert Swengel III. The Swengels are both phenomenal, down-to-earth people whose dedication to their profession and community exemplifies the true spirit of FCCD. Sgt. Robert Swengel III began his career with the Florida Department of Corrections in April 2004 at Florida State Prison. Over the years, he has served with honor in multiple roles — Officer, Sergeant, and Lieutenant — and currently works at Marion Correctional Institution as the Arsenal Sergeant. Sgt. Swengel holds an associate degree and serves as a General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. His professionalism and steady leadership have earned him deep respect among peers and colleagues alike. Retired Sgt. Tammy Swengel began her career with Aramark at Levy Forestry Camp before answering the call to public service as a Correctional Officer in October 2008. When Levy closed, she transferred to Lowell Correctional Institution and later to the Florida Women’s Reception Center, where she retired in February 2024. During her distinguished career, she served as both Officer and Sergeant, mastering nearly every post available. Though now retired, Tammy continues to give generously of her time and talents to support her community and Chapter 18. The Swengels’ dedication doesn’t end with their careers. Whether volunteering at events, managing donations, assisting with Chapter 18’s quarterly newsletter, or maintaining the ever-growing membership list, you can always find them quietly working behind the scenes — getting things done. We are proud to honor Sgt. Robert Swengel III and Retired Sgt. Tammy Swengel as true examples of service, integrity, and teamwork. Their unwavering commitment reflects the very mission of the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency. |
